Tonight the hockey season came to an end and it couldn't have been sweeter for Thomas.  He scored 2 goals!  Way to go Thomas!

snow, slopes and sunshine

We took a little vacation this week to northern Minnesota to ski for a couple of days at Giants Ridge.  We had a great time.  Ava loved the little bunny hill....

...and the magic carpet ride to go back up to the top! 

Scott didn't use a harness with Ava the second day.  She skied by herself on some of the flatter spots.

Until she crashed.  :)

Elle was a good cheerleader encouraging her and showing her how to make an 'A' with her skis.

It was fun to get out there with the kids.  Elle has no fear and will go down any run and usually at full speed.  She often had to stop and wait for me to catch up with her when we skied together.

This is my only picture of Thomas on the slopes. I do not know how that happened!  I wish I had sent a camera along with Scott since he skiied with him a lot more than I did.  Such a bummer.  I did at least take a lot of video of him.  Maybe I will have Scott help me make a short video of our vacation highlights to put up here so that you can see some of his sweet jumps!

the sun is shining

I just have to take a second to pop in here to say that this week is ending so much better than it started.  The sun has been shining and the temps have been in the mid thirties.  That is a heat wave!  Jackets instead of winter coats and snow melting off the roof.  Woohoo! Nothing like a little sunshine to cheer everyone up! 

Today we are going skiing and I am going to attempt to take Ava too! We went as a family last Saturday and Scott took her down the hill several times. She did really well and absolutely loved it.  I took her a couple of times after I got some practice in so it should all go fine.  I'll bring my camera and post pictures this weekend.

Let me tell you about my day....

School was not fun, for any of us.  Ava found a way to get into Elle's markers that were put away in a basket on a shelf in her closet that Ava knows is off limits for her.  She then proceeded to draw with those markers on the quilt on her bed.  I'm not kidding.  This was just too much for me as she just recently drew another crayon creation on the bathroom wall and decorated several of our windows with lotion.  So I'm pretty sure she heard the 'I'm so out of patience" line from me today only with her name instead of puppy.  :) 

And because I like to torture myself we are trying to get her to stop sucking her thumb too.  She's not always as happy with those bandaides on as she looks in the picture! 

On a happy note, she's in bed now.  :)  I was able to get the marker stains out and tomorrow is a new day.
