a meme

Kansas at Canadian Crafter tagged me for this meme and since it involves food how could I not play along?! I'm supposed to take the letters of my blogging name and tell you a food-related factoid about me for each letter. My real name and my blogging name are the same so here goes...

D - Dark chocolate.
These are my absolute favorite. Scott brought them back for me on one of his business trips to Switzerland. He is truly the best! :)

A - Artichoke dip. I don't know if I could pick a favorite appetizer but this would definitely be a contender. I got this recipe from a friend several years ago and I haven't found one I like better. And I don't think there is one out there that could be more fattening! Just don't think about that.

1 cup mayonaisse (the real thing)
1 cup sour cream
1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
8 oz shredded mozarella cheese
1 can artichokes, chopped
1 large clove minced garlic
2-3 chopped green onions

Mix together and pour into a greased casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until brown. Serve with toasted french bread or crackers. I would also recommend serving it with a glass of red wine. So good together!

R -
Runzas. We get these everytime we go back to Nebraska. I make a homemade version that I think will have to be on the menu next week.

C - Chocolate...oh wait, I already said that! Cookies. I have always loved to bake cookies. I was the official cookie baker in the house growing up. My favorites are Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chocolate Chip, No-Bakes, and Monster.

Y - Yogurt. Especially vanilla flavored with fresh fruit and granola.

According to the rules of the meme I'm supposed to tag 8 more people now. There's no pressure to do it though if you'd rather not! :)

My mouth is watering about the artichoke dip! Do you drain the artichokes?? Does it matter if you buy them in oil or water??

Hi Mrs. U!

Yes, you do drain the artichokes. I've always purchased artichokes in water but I'm sure the recipe would turn out fine if you used the ones packed in oil.

Hi Darcy,
Thanks for tagging me! This food one sounds fun.

I might need to think awhile on this one though. LOL

What a fun little meme! Thanks for the tag - I'll probably do it next week sometime.

I love artichoke dip too, but I usually only eat it at parties. If I made it, I would the entire thing by myself in under 30 minutes!

I'm doing this today! :)
