blue skies and sunshine

Sunday we finally had our first day of summer. After church we came home, packed a lunch and spent the rest of the day just relaxing and soaking up the sun. Too much sun actually, Scott and I are both a little red. It was sunny, 82 degrees (that is hot to us!) and there was no wind. The water is still very cold. We just put our toes in.

I keep going missing from this little blog and it will probably be that way most of the summer. We have a lot of projects going on around here. I've been busy planting, painting, and staining. I am hoping the warm weather is here to stay so that we can spend more time enjoying the lake.

This picture of Ava on the boat makes me smile. She's just having a little snack of goldfish crackers. :) I had given her the bag to take a few handfuls out and instead she dumped the entire thing out!

somedays i think i just might go crazy

I know what you're thinking....another toilet/toilet paper post?! Yes, this is life with my Ava. The funny, or really not so funny, thing about this picture is that I could've took the exact same shot just a couple of days ago. Sometimes I think diapers were actually easier!

I was just talking with my dad this weekend and he asked why Ava won't be coming along with Thomas and Elle when they come to stay with them later this month.....this is just one of the many reasons why Dad! :)

oops!

Last night I thought I'd see what it looked like to add a background to my blog and in the process lost my 3 column layout that Scott had helped me do. Lesson learned - do not mess around with your blog template at 11:00 at night. Anyway, I hope to figure out how to get it back without the help of my computer guy (using these instructions). Wish me luck! So if you stop by and my blog is in disarray that is why.

that little ava mae

Tonight I did a quick tidy up in the girls room while they were getting ready for bed. When I picked up this teapot I noticed it felt heavy. I took off the lid expecting to find water and instead found it completely full of raisins! Ava must have raided my pantry!

darcy doll

Elle and Ava named this Barbie doll Darcy a long time ago. It always makes me smile when I hear them playing with her.
