the fun begins
The basement will be primed by Thursday which means that all of the fun decorating stuff gets to start! I am undecided when it comes to paint colors. I will probably stick to a brownish neutral color in the family room but go with a couple of fun colors in the bedrooms. I'm really excited to get to the painting but am going to force myself to get the staining and polyurethaning done first. I need the motivation to get it done! I did a little surfing online to get ideas and found a few pictures to show you what I have in mind for down there -
I need to find 4 light fixtures for the hallway and bedrooms. I'm hoping to find some in this style.
The door style of the cabinets in the wet bar and the vanity in the bathroom are going to look like this in rustic cherry. I am really excited about these!
With the exception of a few places being wood floor and the bathroom being tiled in slate, all the other flooring with be carpet. I am thinking of going with a berber carpet similar to this in the color of DIRT! :)
We have those light fixtures up in our house! I LOVE them! :o) The cabinets are gorgeous, great choice! And, dirt color carpet is always a safe bet and it will be pretty, too! ;) Have fun, Darcy!!!

*Maybe I will post a picture of the haircut that I ended up with, later! It's not really the one that I had posted, but I do love it, anyway!
This blog is about my day to day life as a wife to my husband Scott, and mama to our 3 children - Thomas (13), Elle (11) and Ava (6). I love all things domestic - cooking, baking, knitting, and sewing so you will find a little of each here along with lots of pictures of the kids.
