I don't stop at the clothes though...the toys and books all have to be gone through too. Elle has been struggling to keep her room picked up because she just has too many things and it gets overwhelming for her. So we went through her toys again together and threw out or gave away several of them. We also found a new home outside of her room for things that didn't need to be in there. She is always so much happier after we do this and her room is neat and tidy again.
Today I moved onto my closet and have all my summer clothes and sandals packed away in an under the bed storage container and all of my warm clothes hanging up. Tomorrow I will finish up with Scott's and Thomas's clothes and that project will be done!

oh yes, cleaning out the little girls room. my mom periodically helped me do this when I was a little girl.
btw, I was 5 when I began playing violin, but I think I might have had a leg up as my brother who is 5 years older than me had been plying for a few years already and I was able to learn a lot by example. As a violin teacher I have found that if a child has pretty much no musical exposure, especially strings exposure, between the ages of 6 and 10 is the ideal time to start. For some kids 6 is entirely too young though, it just depends on the child as some kids start at 3 and do great. Sorry for the long commentary. . . I love to talk about it as you can tell. . . . sorry.;)
I'm starting to do this. I need to dedicate myself to it though because I'm at that point where I'm half finished and have boxes to be taken to Goodwill around the house and we will look at them for days if I don't make myself finish this!! And I know I'll feel so much better when it's done!
Oh, I need to do this. I have a closet full of stuff that needs to go to the thrift store but I just cant work up the nerve to work on it. maybe your post will inspire me?!?
Hi Darcy...
I've just done this with Jevan's room and what a difference it's made! Now if I could just get to the rest of the house :)
