fantabulous homeschool links

I've found all kinds of great homeschooling links this week so I thought I'd share them. I would really like to change my blog to a 3 column format and add a link list with all of this info in it. I'd add them to the right column here but it is already ridiculously long. I'll have to see if my techy hubby will help me out with that!
  • abcteach.com - My friend Christina shared the link to this one with me. She's a new homeschooling mama and is going to be a fabulous teacher!
  • worksheetworks.com - This will be a favorite site of mine. I can print excellent quality worksheets for both Thomas and Elle to supplement our curriculum.
  • schoolexpress.com - I am so excited about all of the thematic unit studies that are available to print. All of the work is done for me! We are using the South America and Owl ones this week and they are great.
  • math-drills.com - This site will be great to go to when we need extra practice on a lesson that is particularly difficult or just for an occasional review of a concept we haven't covered in awhile.
  • softschools.com - More great worksheets as well as fun learning activities that the kids will enjoy. I like how it's also organized according to grade as well.
Since it's wintertime it's a great time to take a week learning about snow. See if you can borrow a copy of Snowflake Bentley from the library. Make a bowl of snow ice cream. (I am looking forward to trying out that recipe with the kids when we get a fresh snowfall. Even though we've had 20+ inches of snow this winter already we still haven't tried it. I finally remembered to buy a can of sweetened condensed milk at the grocery store this week!) This site is cool to learn more about snowflakes....more than you've ever wanted to know about them really! :) Of course, then you can't learn about snow without cutting some paper snowflakes. It's entertaining to make a flake online here too. I liked Martha's slideshow of winter craft ideas. The rosy cheeked snowman is so cute. And so easy too! Winter lasts so long here we have to try make it as fun as possible! :)

I just stumbled across your site... I am looking for homeschooling ideas for my 9 year old son who is very smart, the schools call him gifted, and also had ADHD. I have never been a homeschooler, I have always worked, but was in a car accident recently that has left me housebound. So I am looking for advice support, someone to tell me I'm not crazy! And also some blogging friends :)
I look forward to getting to know you!!
