beach day

It was a fun afternoon of water, sun, and sand. We spent the afternoon at the beach swimming and building sand castles. At least the kids did.

I had intentions of spending the afternoon like Polly here. Soaking up some rays and enjoying the issue of Martha Stewart Living that I just got in the mail today while the children played nicely beside me. I forgot that I have a 2 year old!

Ava loves the water. She thought she was such a big girl swimming with Thomas and Elle.

We happened to run into a couple of families that we knew there and the kids had fun building lakes and streams together in the sand.

And you can't go to the beach without covering yourself completely with sand. It was a fun day.

Yep, it's Elle's Polly Pocket doll. She took it to the beach to play. :)

What a beautifully clean lake! May I ask which beach you were at? I'm also in MN, the St. Cloud area. For some odd reason there aren't many nice places to swim around here. Or maybe I just have yet to discover them?

I came across your blog from a WFMW post a few Wednesdays ago and have been stopping by ever since!

Hi Kara! I'm so glad you've been stopping by! The beach we are swimming at in these pictures is Pelican Beach. It's between Nisswa and Crosslake. It's my favorite in the area with lots of sand and it's shallow for a long ways out.

I'll be over to visit your blog soon! :)
