shop till you drop
That was our motto today. The kids and I got back tonight from an all day shopping adventure in the cities. Scott had to fly to Kansas City early this morning so he had a hotel room booked by the Mall of America last night. I had been wanting to take a shopping trip to the cities for awhile so the kids and I tagged along and stayed with him. By 9:30 this morning the shopping 'fun' had begun. Ava kept it interesting by yelling out 'naken!' and 'unerwear!' (naked and underwear) when she was in the fitting rooms with us. :) It actually went pretty well until 2:00 when Ava had had enough of it and was ready for a nap. Unfortunately she will NOT ride in a stroller when we go shopping. I didn't even bother to pack one and we tried a few at the stores that have them available but she wanted nothing to do with them. We persevered though because our trips to the cities don't come all that often. We managed to get everyone some new outfits for spring and summer. I found a couple of barstools for the wet bar and a coffee table for the basement. Pretty good with 3 kids I'd say! And Ava eventually did take a 45 minute nap.....in my arms. Thomas took this picture of us while we were taking a little break.
My favorite store to buy clothes for myself is Fossil. I always look forward to seeing what's there and today didn't disappoint. I tried on this dress and decided it's my summer staple. I bought it in 2 solid colors and a print.
Now it just needs to warm up! I had to bring all of my potted plants and hanging baskets into the garage tonight because there is another chance of frost.

I didn't even know Fossil had clothes. That dress is adorable...I am impressed & amazed by all the shopping you did with a 2 year old. I've got 15 minutes, maybe 20, with Ruby. :)
Darc, You're a Super Mom! Where there's a will, there's a way! You'll soon be getting more of a break then you probably want. Or maybe it is more likely put, loosing your good helpers with Ava. Hey, she will get the shovel all to herself! And I will get to do some spoiling!!!! Can't wait til Ava can join them!
I second that "Super Mom" thing! What troopers....and we grandma's are plenty excited! And I'm sure the grandpa's too! Gma Jan
